While Heidi Storz’s profession involves defectively constructed homes, her avocation is helping families thrive within their homes, as stated in a recent article featuring her in Colorado Super Lawyers.  Heidi Storz has earned a spot as a Colorado Super Lawyer in 2012, 2013, and 2014, among the Super Lawyers Top 50 Women Lawyers in Colorado in both 2013 and 2014, and among the Super Lawyers Top 100 Lawyers overall in Colorado in 2014.  These honors are the result of Storz’s professionalism, legal acumen and skill,  dedication to her clients, and her passion for giving back and making a difference in the community.  Her passion for helping others stems from her work with developmentally disabled persons and from the time she spent serving in the Peace Corps.

After law school, Heidi applied for an attorney position at Burdman & Benson, a construction defect law firm. With founding partner Doug Benson as a mentor, Heidi emerged as a skilled and successful construction defect litigator . Burdman and Benson later became Benson & Associates, and Heidi became a partner.  In 2012, the firm’s name changed to Benson, Kerrane, Storz & Nelson. Storz’s professionalism and legal expertise are well recognized throughout the legal community in Colorado.  “Almost every firm in town as offered Heidi a job at different times” says Doug Benson, “and she was loyal to stick it out with a small firm like ours. She helped make us what we are today.”

When water comes pouring in through the windows or the roof, the drywall and brickwork begin to crack, or homeowners cannot open or close doors or windows, folks call on Storz for help.  When it’s a big, complicated case, “those are often the ones that go to Heidi,” says Benson, Kerrane, Storz & Nelson’s  managing partner, Jeff Kerrane.
